Step 1 – Free Initial Consultation Mariuka will get to know your lifestyle and personality, and find out what you want in your permanent lip blush look. She will study your face and lip shape and advise where your lip line should be. She will advise you on all the options, from colour (we use a large range of hypo-allergenic pigments to create the perfect one for you!) to the perfect shape – whether that’s a “just-bitten” barely there stain to a more bold look. Step 2 – Treatment On the day of your treatment, Mariuka will first draw an outline with a pencil, to simulate how it will look when done. You will get to see and consider this ‘preview’. Once you’ve settled on your shape and colour, lay back and let her do her magic! Mariuka will then custom blend the colour pigments perfectly suited to your face and skin tone. Then, with your skin having been numbed with a topical anaesthetic cream to minimise discomfort, she will use a micropigmentation pen to create your new perfect lips. Because the pigment only goes into the dermal layer of your skin, the colour will fade in 1 – 3 years (it is not a permanent eyeliner tattoo). This is ideal because lip and facial shapes change over time, as do lip style trends. The procedure takes 2 hours and there is no downtime. When you walk out the door you’ll enjoy the new freedom from hours of applying and reapplying lipstick, as well as never again glancing in the mirror and wondering how long the glob of lipstick has been on your teeth! Immediately after treatment, there will be some swelling, and the colour is much more intense and bolder than expected. This is not an indication of what the colour will look like once it has healed. Pigment fades 40% within the first 7 days and the true colour will be visible within 4 weeks. Step 3 – Aftercare For best results, follow our detailed Aftercare Instructions. A little extra care and attention in the first 2 weeks will ensure your new lips stay tip top! Step 4 – Top Up In the days after your treatment, you may form some small scabs and up to 40% of the pigment will be lost. This is a normal and natural healing process and that is why a topup is required after 2 weeks. This is included in the treatment price.
